Palyrria is a collective of people from diverse backgrounds that create and perform music. They combine rhythms and modes from all over the world with electronic and experimental soundscapes. Based on experimentation and improvisation their work transcends the boundaries of musical styles while exploring the gray areas between east and west, old and new.

Their second release – entitiled Palyrria - is a diverse work that combines modern electronic music with elements from the traditional music around the Mediterranean. Pentatonic scales from Epirus, Ikaria’s traditional dance, the lyre of the Aegean Sea, eastern and African music, blend with dub, breakbeat and electronica in the creation of a distinct fusion.

Palyrria members include Panayiotis (Tsiko) Katsikiotis on electro and ethnic percussion, Dimitris (Dr Aja) Tsourgiannis on synths, effects and percussion, Konstantinos Haller in the production and audio technology, Artemis (Art Em) Kangas on traditional and custom made instruments and Panayiotis Kaperneka on flutes and vocals. Also Diamadis (Ta33is) Tassis is in charge of the visual presentation of the band.
