Born and raised in Athens, before leaving school I was playing music . It was always what I wanted to do. So I went on to London at the Guildhall School of Music (1975 - 80) and then at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris.
Upon my return in Greece I met and worked with Manos Hadjidakis who was a very strong influence. Since 1986 I write songs as well as music for feature films, television series, theatrical plays, and documentaries.
The relation of Evanthia Reboutsika with the cinema starts when she’s still a child, as she grew up in the projection booth of her father’s cinema. Her first memories, full of the images and music of the films of that time, were transformed into the need for personal expression between two poles which constitute her great love: Music and Cinema.
Her music for the film “Politiki Kouzina” met with tremendous success in Greece and was accompanied with a platinum OST CD.
The Turkish film «BABAM VE OĞLUM» was honoured with the “World Soundtrack Discovery Award 2006” which has been launched by the World Soundtrack Academy.
